Introducing Paced: Your Time, Your Pace.
We've all been there. You sit down after a long day, intending to relax for just a few minutes, and you open Instagram or TikTok. Before you know it, you look up and an hour has vanished into the scroll. That time, which was meant to be restful, often leaves you feeling more drained, mentally scattered, and even a little guilty.
You appreciate your phone as a tool for connection and convenience, but there's a growing, low-grade anxiety that the tool is starting to control you.
What if you could change that relationship? What if you could enjoy your favorite apps on your own terms, finding a balance that feels right for you?
That’s why I’m building Paced.
What is Paced?
Paced is a new digital wellness app for Android designed to help you build a healthier, more intentional relationship with your phone. It’s not a punitive blocker designed to make you feel bad about your habits. Instead, Paced is a supportive coach that empowers you to find a sustainable balance between your digital life and your real life. Our core philosophy is simple: it's your time, so you should set the pace.
How It Works: The Paced Cycle
Paced is built on a unique, session-based model that encourages periodic, active breaks. Here’s how the core loop works:
Your Session: You start by selecting a group of your most distracting apps. When you open any of these apps, a cumulative 30-minute session timer begins.
A Mindful Cooldown: Once your 30 minutes are up, the selected apps are locked, and a 1-hour cooldown period begins.
The Paced Incentive: This is where Paced is different. During the cooldown, you can earn your screen time back by being physically active. For every 100 steps you take, you earn 3 minutes off your cooldown time. A simple 20-minute walk could unlock your next session. This turns a moment of digital restriction into a positive opportunity for a mindful, physical break.
Who is Paced For?
Paced is for "The Balancer".
You're likely a busy professional, aged 25-45, working in a field like tech, healthcare, or marketing. You’re tech-savvy, but you feel your phone use is becoming more reactive than intentional. Your goal isn't to become a productivity robot; it's to practice intentional living. You want to feel in control of your time and attention so you can dedicate them to what truly matters—your relationships, your health, and your hobbies.
The Road Ahead & How You Can Get Involved
We are deep in development, building the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for Android, with a target launch date of February 13th, 2026.
This journey is about building a more mindful future, one step at a time, and I would love for you to be a part of it from the very beginning.
If the problem of the "mindless scroll" resonates with you, I invite you to join our pre-launch email waitlist on getpaced.app. You'll be the first to receive updates, get access to early beta testing opportunities, and help shape the future of Paced.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to taking this journey with you.
Sincerely,
Rhonda Lavoie
