Taking Paced to the World Stage: Why I’m up at 1:00 AM Tonight

If you were at my birthday party back in February, you know we’ve already celebrated the local launch of Paced. But tonight, I am feeling a completely different kind of "launch jitters."

At 1:01 AM (CST), Paced is making its global debut on Product Hunt.

The "World Cup" of Tech

For those outside the tech world, Product Hunt is where the newest inventions from across the globe go head-to-head every single day. It is the gold standard for startups. Usually, the leaderboard is dominated by Silicon Valley giants with massive VC budgets and teams of developers.

Tonight, I’m showing up as a 50-year-old Realtor from the Canadian Prairies with a "Saskatoon-made" idea and a lot of grit.

I’ll be honest: I’m nervous. You never truly know how the world will receive something you’ve poured your heart into. But I’m also incredibly excited to showcase what we’ve built. My dream—and I’m putting it out there—is for Paced to rank as a "Top 5 App of the Day." Getting that badge would show the world that you don't need a tech degree or a million-dollar budget to solve a global problem like doomscrolling.

Why This Matters

I built Paced because I was tired of my phone winning every night. I wanted a tool that felt like a partner, not a digital jailer. We’ve already seen amazing momentum with features in MobileSyrup, CTV News, SaskToday, and CBC Radio, but Product Hunt is the ultimate test.

As a non-tech founder, I used Google Gemini as my expert partner to lead the team that brought this "shame-free" approach to life. We replaced traditional blockers with a physical trade:
